Garden Volunteer Help Needed - April 6
11 - 4 pm
Help remove diseased fruit trees from the Danny Woo Community Garden. This project will help clear the way for construction of the outdoor cookery this summer. The project, funded by the City of Seattle's Department of Neighborhoods, will create an active cooking and learning place for young and old alike. The work will require lifting and hauling wood. A side benefit is the opportunity to take home some firewood!
WILD Youth at Lunar New Year
Students in the Wilderness Inner-City Leadership Development (WILD) program engaged visitors to their booth at the 2014 Lunar New Year Celebration in Hing Hay Park. They instructed young and old alike in making paper lanterns, while explaining coming changes to the park in the heart of the Chinatown - International District.
