This year we celebrate the 50th year since the Danny Woo International District Community Garden was built! Through the decades, the gardens 100 plots have been lovingly tended by low-income senior residents of the Chinatown International District. The Garden provides them with exercise, social connection, nutritious culturally appropriate food, connection to nature and the earth, a touchstone for cultural continuity, a sense of agency and purpose, and more. Sustaining the Garden for the community poses an ongoing challenge for InterIm CDA.
